The unwanted animal population has reached a level where trapping-neutering-rehoming is too slow.  So now releasing these animals has to become an option for those who want to help but cannot place the unfortunate animals.

For those who are keen to help, here are some tips.

1. Trap the cats the night before so you can fast them.  This means preventing the cat from eating and drinking for at least 10 hours before surgery.
2. Using a government subsidised low cost spay clinic can make it much more affordable.  KLINIK KEMBIRI’s number is 03-40243446.
3. Young adolescent males and females are the easiest.  Mature males may be aggressive, so be careful.
4. Remember to ask you vet to TIP the cats so they are easily identifiable to others.  The procedure is a little cruel, but totally neccessary.  It prevents them from being captured by others who wish to help, and local authorities nay be willing to close one eye if they know the cat has been tipped and therefore pose a smaller problem in the long run.
